The day has arrived! A big new baby has arrived in Sydney…

A beautiful new baby has arrived in Marrickville much to the excitement of the Sydney Zest team! He’s Zest’s latest acquisition to build on our roasting successes and offer specialty coffee gems to Sydney’s cafes.

Well, actually its a ’62 model Probat UG15 (that makes this kid 53 years old and he weighs in at 1322kg!) that has been meticulously restored to its original state. The large wooden crate was dragged inside with much puffing and panting and the slats prized off one by one to reveal the black and silver machine. There’s something about a vintage Probat – belts, motors, chrome, shafts and spindles – that just oozes craftsmanship! And James and Jerome are now just eagerly waiting to get this amazing piece of German engineering into production to bring out the absolute best in flavour and character in our specialty coffee offerings. This will be forever a big day in the history of Zest Sydney – the day the long awaited Probat arrived!!
