UOW baristas take part in annual barista and latte art battle.
This is the third year that the UOW have run this event, and it sure was a winner.
Latte Art Smackdown was a head to head battle of randomly selected latte art and various vessels will be used. Rosetta, Swan, Heart and freestyle.
Barista Competition. This year you will only verse yourself! You will get one chance to impress the judge and they will grade you on the one performance and then compare to other competitors.
Here are some pictures from around the day! 🙂
A big Congratulations to the winners of both competitions. It was a tight competition and only narrowly won with one point by Krystal Randall, followed by Matt Dempsey and Daniel Hughes. And the latte art champion being Daniel Hughs, Matt Dempsey (again) and Jackk Mil. Well done all!
Here’s what the winner @miss_krystal has to say about her win.
First place in the UOW Barista Championship. Anyone who knows me will tell you how passionate I am about perfect coffee, so I’m pretty proud to have scored a near-perfect score from both the technical and sensory judges. First price was $300 cash, an engraved Pullman Tamp, a giant hamper of coffee equipment that only a barista would enjoy, a workshop day at Zest Specialty Coffee Roasters and entry to the state championships. Stoked!
