Espresso blends are made of at least two single origin coffees to create a consistent flavour profile throughout the year. However, Micro-lots are high-quality single-origin coffees that can be traced back to the farm and farm owner. These coffees usually score 85+ on SCA grading system. We roast these coffees differently in order to preserve their unique flavour profile. Also, these coffees are seasonal and are not available throughout the year.
We develop coffees for espresso and filter differently during the roasting process in order to make them suitable for the brewing method. Generally speaking, for espresso profile, we roast coffees a bit slower to be able to be extracted through an espresso machine. In contrast, filter roasted coffees are being developed at a faster rate to preserve more delicate flavour.
Specialty coffee is all about quality and traceability. It all start from the farm to the final cup being served at your local cafe. The whole supply chain work together to always produce and deliver high quality standards and excellence. The Specialty Coffee Association defines any coffee that scores 80+ on their grading system, specialty coffee. It means that coffee has no primary defect that affect overall flavour profile of the cup.
At the farm level, the coffee producer focuses on picking the ripe cherries only and processing the cherries in the best possible way to avoid any defects. Then the specialty roaster do her/his best to preserve and highlight delicious and delicate flavours of such high quality coffees trough the roasting process. Then it comes down to the barista to pay the final care to brew the coffee according to the SCA brewing standards and protocols to serve the coffee.
Light filter roasted microlots.
If you like richer and heavier traditional coffee flavours, then espresso blends work just fine with French press or Mocha pot however, if you would like to appreciate more delicate flavours then we highly recommend light filter roasted microlots.
For espresso minimum 7-10 days and for filter roast coffees minimum 3-5 days after the roast.
It is always recommended to buy enough coffee that you can consume within two weeks of purchase. A dark, dry and cool space is the best place to keep your coffee. Make sure you get rid of excess air before you wrap the bag after use. That being said, if you’d like to keep your coffee for a longer time without quality loss, you can vacuum seal your coffee and keep it in the freezer below -15C for more than 6 months.
We do not add any flavour and/or any other thing to the coffee.
Coffee is naturally gluten-free.
At the moment, we don’t have a certified organic coffee.
Coffee is naturally vegan.
We have four specialty espresso blends which vary in flavour profile, quality and price to suit different taste buds and budgets.
