“My coffee journey started when I worked in my parent’s shop. A cafe opened next to us and the aroma of black coffee aroused my interest. Since then I have worked every single job there is in a coffee roastery, from packing coffee bags to roasting. Now, my wife myself, and our Miniature Schnauzer, ‘Salvador’ have been living in beautiful Warragul. Since starting with Zest I have had the opportunity to roast high-quality coffee, picked coffee cherries, processed them, and share them with friends. My journey is currently 25 years in and I am only just getting started.”
Aryan brings an extraordinary level of coffee knowledge to our team. Having been with our team for over 4 years and a half now, Aryan spends most days either helping or training our cafe partners or roasting your micro-kot coffees on the white baby Deitrich! Aryan is also a Judge for Brewers Cup competitions. He is also an advocate for healthy eating and runs a marathon or two from time to time!
“I got into coffee for the reason it brings people together and it was a tradition in my household where we would all gather and share a coffee and spend time together.
Another reason was for the experimental side and the ability to always learn. I was a barista for two years before I started training and educating regional hospitality staff as well as helping businesses create procedures and better workflow, so they could create better tasting coffee and a more successful business.I then decided to open my own espresso bar inside the local Wagga brewery (Thirsty crow ).From there, I came across an opportunity with Zest so my girlfriend and I decided to move down to Melbourne where we are both loving life and enjoying all the good parts the city has to offer.”
